An Esoteric Interpretation of a Horoscope

In esoteric astrology the horoscope is based on the Ascendant that shows the purpose of the soul, and the Sun-sign where you will find the personality. The Ascendant points out the way to the future and the spiritual realm, while the Sun shows what you have learned and accomplished up to now.

To this can be added the Moon, this planet tells you about the past, old karma and old habits that you have to get rid of if you want to progress forwards on your journey.
An esoteric interpretation is also based on a deeper level than outer events. Let us make an example.

Maybe someone comes to an astrologer and wants to know if she will meet a man in the near future. But if her previous relation did not work out so well, will she make the same mistakes in her next relation?

If she meets a new man and repeats the old pattern, is it not better that she asks herself what it is within herself that needs to be altered? The problem for this woman is not to find a new man, but to understand more about how to create a good relationship. It was obviously something that did not work in her last relationship, and why was it so? What was her own part of the problem? If you by studying her horoscope can help her to understand more about how she reacts in intimate relationships, this will be a true help for her.

If someone says that she wants more money, you may reflect on why she thinks she needs extra money. What is she going to use her money for? Try to find the real cause of why she says she needs money.

What does she think more money will bring to her? If she thinks it will give her security, then security is her real problem. You can then focus on her needs for security. If she needs money for a new car, you may ask her how this will make her feel better. If she says that driving a car would increase her self-esteem, then a lack of confidence might be one of her problems. Concentrate on the lack of confidence, and not the lack of money. What is of importance is what spiritual lesson is to be learned, not outer events.
