Esoteric Astrology is based on the soul

Every sign has a higher and a lower aspect. The higher aspect is the view of the soul,
while the lower aspect is the product of the personality.

Esoteric Astrology looks at life from the viewpoint of the soul. It is in the soul you will find your highest aspirations and dreams, and also the purpose of life. When you look at the horoscope, remember that all signs, all planets and all houses are good by nature. Every part of the horoscope contains good qualities. You should strive to embody these qualities; they are the virtues you should aim for in life.

Why is it, then, that you may find bad characteristics in a person, if all signs have noble qualities? This is because the good qualities of a sign, planet or house often are misinterpreted or misunderstood by the personality. If your fears say "I want to avoid this," and your desires say "I want it to be this way instead of seeing how things really are," you will perceive life like as through a lens of glamour and illusions. If you let the intellect or emotions rule your life it will take you to self-deception, and you will consequently misinterpret the divine qualities of a sign. Self-deception always occurs when the feeling of "me first" is at hand.

Look at the beautiful qualities of the signs, planets and houses and aim towards them.
This is what you should aspire towards. These are the soul-qualities.

Let us take an example. The sign of Taurus contains several spiritual qualities.
One of them is inner peace: the capacity to remain calm, and to experience a state of
safety and security no matter what occurs in your surrounding. If you possess an inner
peace you will react in a rational manner even in the most difficult situations, and
never give in to destructive emotions such as panic or fear.

If, however, you suffer some fears, these fears will inevitably color the divine idea
of peace to a certain extent; your sense of inner peace will be distorted by a veil
of mist. You might then interpret peace in terms of what many people regard as "security. " If you are used to a certain way of life and have a fear of anything that may challenge your inherited attitudes, you may interpret peace the absence of new challenging ideas.

But true peace is not to let fear rule you life, true peace is the absence of fear.
You may also believe that if you sit down and do nothing, you will thereby achieve "peace. " This is because you are afraid of the unknown, and want to keep it at a distance.
